Farm Life Series: Behind the Design of Our Brand

Get to Know Dominic Thibault, and learn more about the design behind the Fresh Pickins Brand.

Born in Canada, with a deep adventurous mind and vivid curiosity, Dominic drove south down the east coast in search of waves and a perfect escape. That’s when she met Dan and their friendship evolved into a strong partnership. Dominic joined the team five years ago to help bring Fresh Pickins to the next level by starting with rebranding the collections to be what you see today. With a background in design, she’s brought a new perspective and spark to the business and has been spearheading the creative direction along with developing the different collections and campaigns.

But that’s not where her story begins…

Attracted by color and shape early on in her life, she went to study to be a painter in Montreal city and is still practicing her art which you can often find displayed at our local shop in Portland, Maine.

While living in the romantic Quebec city, she then studied set design and costume design at a theater school right behind Le Frontenac chateau. That’s also where she later taught graphic design & evolved through Montreal and Quebec theater and contemporary dance scene as a space & costume designer for years, transitioning to a shorter but strong stint as a stylist & art director in sets…All interesting experiences that gave her a new conceptual approach and knowledge that will soon be transferred into creating some sweet Fresh Pickins merch… stay tuned!

Just before she quit her office job within a well known event company, where she was creating 3D mockups for experiential & conceptual space she started to feel a serious bond with her gardening and herbal research which changed the course of her life, and brought her to this present moment.
Since then we have been incredibly grateful for her to be able to merge all of her passions into her new holistic design life inside Fresh Pickins and are excited for what the future holds!
